Workshop Scope: | Workshop proposals submitted to the 19th Annual International Biocuration Conference must be related to the curation of data and metadata in the biological sciences. Biocuration refers to the translation and integration of information relevant to biology into databases or resources that enable integration of the scientific literature as well as large datasets. Accurate and comprehensive representation of biological knowledge, as well as easy access to this data for working scientists and a basis for computational analysis, are primary goals of biocuration. Therefore, workshop proposals submitted for hosting at the conference may pertain to, but are not limited to, biocuration advocacy, the implementation of biocuration tools, and biocuration-related career and skills development. |
